Low Carb Nutrition


Two years ago I was living a "healthy" lifestyle of low fat, high fruit and vegetable, whole grains and lean meats. But because I wasn't exercising regularly (and obviously my caloric intake was higher than what I was burning), my body fat was increasing and I was feeling lethargic and unhappy. Interestingly, I found it difficult to keep my caloric intake down because I was hungry all the time, and maybe because I was pretty stressed out.


Now I've been living a low carb high fat lifestyle for over a year and I feel awesome! have lost a significant amount of body fat, increased my energy levels and reduced my rate of illness (upper respiratory tract infections, colds and viruses), while at the same time my total cholesterol and LDL (bad cholesterol has dropped and my HDL (aka good cholesterol) has increased!

But along the way there were things that didn't work for me, things I had to figure out, and mistakes I made. But I worked through them and found solutions as well as a lifestyle I am very happy with - whole foods, low carb high fat, and LOTS of vegetables! [It's not all meat, butter and bacon.  :-) ]  So I wante dto share my experiences and lessons learned with others.
